Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American as well as a Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released more than 20 studio albums. DiFranco categorizes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it contains influences such as punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first artist to establish her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced in their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother was born in Montreal and her father is of Italian descent. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. The song was featured on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in 1995. The song's version is featured on the 1999 Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was announced that she would be hosting an event for three days at the Louisiana slave plantation. It was called off, but many (including the news media) didn't think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco released a new apology several days after.
