Silk was born in Fredericton at New Brunswick Canada. The daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, as well as Ilkay Silk, an acclaimed actor as well as a producer, director, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna remembers her mother working and attending play rehearsals. Silk featured in a few commercials that she was in at a young age. The Bachelor in Arts was awarded to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least Two early productions: Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto to pursue her acting career in the month of November 1999. She later, in the following decade relocated into Los Angeles, California. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, when they met during an ActorsWorkshop held in Los Angeles. Following their engagement in 2008, the couple got married in 2009. They renewed their vows on the 10th of April in Fredericton during a Jewish ceremony after becoming Jewish.
